The Swiss Finance + Technology Association (SFTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA). This means that the two organizations will work closer together in the future to improve financial innovation in both markets. In a first step, a delegation from SFTA will visit the Singapore FinTech Festival in November. Beyond this, further collaboration is planned to create new connections and share knowledge between the FinTech ecosystems of Switzerland and Singapore.
John Hucker, President of the SFTA: “Singapore is an important partner in our global network of FinTech hubs. They set a fine example of the potential for FinTech, with natural synergies between Switzerland and Singapore. For example, our shared wealth management industries, leading technical universities, and stable governments. We are looking forward to Swiss participation at the Singapore Fintech Festival and to welcoming guests from Singapore to Switzerland in 2018. This MOU is another example of our focused efforts to enable a global FinTech ecosystem which can generate returns for all stakeholders.”
Singapore Fintech Association (SFA)
The Singapore Fintech Association is quite similar to the Swiss Finance + Technology Association. It is a nonprofit organisation to facilitate collaboration between different market participants and stakeholders. Its goal is to improve the development of the FinTech industry in Singapore. The 125 members represent all different stakeholders, from start-ups to large financial organizations.
