More than 30 FinTech passionates chose to have an alternative lunchtime with Swiss Finance + Technology Association and Technopark Zurich. A vibrant FinTech environment present at the Incubator was represented by two local startups – Innomatika and Fractal Labs – explaining how their product make the life of the companies easier dealing with the data analysis.

The first part of the 7th edition of FinTech lunch event organized by Swiss Finance + Technology Association at Technopark Zurich was focused on a presentation of the incubator and the role it has been playing in the local start-up scene. Matthias Hölling, Team Lead of the Technopark Foundation, provided an impression of the function and the results the institution has had in over 20 years of its existence. It has championed the connection between innovation and markets, by focusing on its strong academic connections to excellent universities such as the ETH Zurich. To confirm these important results, two locally hosted FinTech startups presented themselves to the audience.

Innomatika: In-house market data platform

Innomatika helps financial institutions and companies to build their own in-house market data platform, taking the role of an adapter that allows to automatically integrate, calculate and distribute data feeds from different vendors. This is currently a tedious and expensive process, as different data feeds need to be converted, merged and reemitted with a high chance of inconsistent results. In addition, the costly data consumption is not always easy to track. The solution the team offers, allows for a very convenient, much more standardized way of data flows, adaptive to potential changes from its sources and able to measure the exact usage of data-quantities. The team showcased the concept of their product through a simple weighted currency conversion, using three different dynamic input sources.

Fractal Labs: Your financial assistant

Andreas Signer, CTO & Co-Founder of the company Fractal Labs, introduced the product they offer. The software attempts to automate analyses and insights, usually painfully pieced together by the finance department of companies. It helps in the creation of budgets and is aimed at supporting in the decision-making based on financial indicators available. A chat field allows for the interaction with a smart-bot, through which different metrics can be called up. The software was demonstrated live on a mobile phone, with an inquiry of different figures through text recognition.
